Uriel, Fire of God Empty
PostSubject: Uriel, Fire of God   Uriel, Fire of God I_icon_minitimeThu May 30, 2013 4:02 am

Name: Uriel
Age:
Race: Batika
Concept: Survivor, Channeler, Anarchist, Terrorist
Motivation: Destruction of the Primus Regime

Though greatly unknown to Uriel, buried deep within the sub-consciousness of his soul, his existence extends far beyond the present he knows. Once a Roshoqan of low notoriety, Uriel's potential as a channeler made him a subject to interest to the Primus. Among those like him, Uriel was stolen away in the night and taken far from Roshoq to parts unknown. In the facilities on Endrata, Uriel was subjugated to a number of vile experiments, enduring excruciating pain on all levels of existence. These experiences motivated Uriel to think otherwise of humanity, and gave him reason to hate many and trust few in the trust senses of the words. Yet, Uriel clung to a hope of life within the inescapable confines on Endrata while others surrendered to woe and despair, only trying to survive. His efforts were not in vain. As the nodal event vaporized the planet surface, Uriel knew, even for an instant, at last that his enemies would be vanquished, and those made to wrongly suffer would be free. This however was not the end.

As if a pact made in hatred, Uriel was destined for the physical realm yet. A Taari is born, caught between the hells of two worlds suffering from the cataclysm of the nodal event. He finds himself screeching as he is shoved and pulled between the fabrics of space-time across dimensions as if being ground against a grate. Between the smoldering rock and darkened sky on Endrata, and the unimaginable and endless nightmare in Eidos, Uriel began to exist once more and regain some sense of identity. Though he inevitably found others, he – like most – still felt a sense of loneliness on the planet. The Roshoqans would return, however.

The immediate result of reconnecting with the Militari was disastrous. Uriel's hatred came flooding back on sight of the Bull reviving the agony burning within him. Over time, however, he was able to accept the calm of the moment and embrace the idea that there was still hope. Like other Taari, Uriel was willing to do whatever it would take to return to a physical form that could experience life fully once more. Aboard the Epitus, Uriel showed prime interest in the research of stem cells and contributed to the development artificial organics, later dubbed Batika. Inevitable success of the projects led to the surface development of breeding facilities, which Uriel later became a part of. Even in this moment in time, the vague sensation of demand was within him. Demand for justice to sating he hatred that boiled within, the confusions of hundreds that bled in and out of his mind as he shifted between two realm, the constant noise of the world, it all drove Uriel forward, for in the chaos of it all there was a directive to follow. He would have his body back.

The development of the Batika took it time, though Uriel was diligent in his efforts. The combined practice of the Taari, literally and metaphorically, led to the development of several generations of Batika before the identification of a mass production method. The bodies were made with the prime intent of amplifying channeling in a permanent, organic form. After a set of successful trials, Uriel's own seed was developed. The gate to Eidos shut behind him, and moving forward Uriel met a wall. He explored, but soon found he had been contained. The implementation was a success, and without further stimuli Uriel fell into a deep meditation, which transformed into slumber and eventually comatose. As time went on, the room expanded permitting exploration and thought yet uncovered. After a successful incubation, Uriel was reborn. He had been given a second chance.

A number of interstellar years went on. Uriel was made a subject once more, though now in a position of some privilege. With the havoc of his mind made clear, Uriel felt the longing for escape. When the time came, he put himself among the number of Batika who had escaped the facility. Unbeknownst as a former Taari, or before that a former penal colonist, Uriel was welcomed among strangers yet again. He built the walls of Crixas and fought for the lives of those he grew to love. Deep thought of the circumstances, history, and facts drew Uriel to the ultimate conclusion of humanity's darkness:  that in order for his people to survive the Roshoqans would need to be exterminated. By fire be purged…

Appearance:  whatever I find a picture for because who cares… hopefully more rugged, but not cave man looking and stuff

Personality:
Though not dry, Uriel comes across as blunt, unsympathetic, aloof. It cannot always be clear if his mind is elsewhere, or just deliberately ignoring the speaker. He's listening though, always listening if he can; it's a habit. He's characterized as an ass in the end, not that it matters to him, because a determined sense of duty drives him.

Close quarters and dwindling numbers give Uriel more reason than most humans will ever know to empathize and help others. Ironically, self proclamation of what's just right or deserved tests his patience. Better left done than said, for Uriel. He personally feels his channeling capability to be much more a burden than a gift. For all the potential it brings, is proves taxing on him, and the demand of his evolution to accommodate this expanding ability can be painful. Still, it is a way of survival, and Uriel has a firm belief in leading by action - saving words for the key moments.

Endrata's blatant dangers and deceitful remedies have tempered habits of caution, quick judgement, and immediate action with a short time view of after effects. Though the forming of harsh opinions is immediate, Uriel recognizes a need to at the very least negotiate with others for the ultimate long term goal of survival. These informal politics and the constant high alert tire Uriel however.

At a glance he's not much, distant to the point of being taken for shy. Verbal abuse might be a good sign that he has the thought at all. It takes either a long time, keen eye, or simply the miraculous opportunity for Uriel to show his true colors in the open - a danger on Endrata. Given the inevitable chance, he just may surprise the most doubtful of minds. Looking inward, Uriel also recognizes the vitality and uniqueness of others, and almost never fails to thank the kindnesses of others at the most meaningful of events. For all his conviction for kindness, the extent of his patience expires quicker with each passing day unleashing a deadly wrath on that which works against him. Loyal and capable friend or vicious and relentless foe? That all depends...
